THE HISTORY OF THE CUKUROVA UNIVERSITY INDUSTRY COLLABORATION FOUNDATION
The Cukurova University Industry Callaboration Foundation, abbreviated as CUSIVAK, was established on March 15, 2022 with the support of businesspeople from Adana in response to the initiatives of Rector Prof. Dr. Meryem Tuncel who desired to create an educatian model with high student satisfaction, preferred by successful students, and to advance Cukurova University by enhancing its research infrastructure.
In accordance with this objective, the Foundation, which began its first activities by awarding scholarships to students who will choose Cukurova University in the fields of Engineering and Medicine by scoring among the top 3000 on the numerical score type of the Higher Educatian Entrance Exam (YKS), is also a very significant step toward university-industry callaboration in Adana.
Rector Prof. Dr. Meryem Tuncel is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CUSIVAK, and the Vice Chairman is İsrafil Uçurum the Chairman of the Assembly of the Adana Chamber of Industry.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. ilter Ünlükaplan, Adana Chamber of Industry President Zeki Kıvanc, Adana Organized Industrial Zone (AOSB) Chairman Bekir Sütçü, AOSB Deputy Chairman Ömer Kaya, and businessman Bülent Bilici comprise the Foundation's Board of Directors.
CUSIVAK, which was founded by Cukurova University and businesspeople in collaboration with Çukurova University, provides scholarship support of 10,000 TL per month to the top 100, 8,000TL per month to those ranked between 101 and 500, 7,000 TL per month to those ranked between 501 and 1000, 6,000 TL per month to those ranked between 1001 and 2000, and 5,000 TL per month to those ranked between 2001 and 3000 for nine months and without repayment.
Scholarship recipients get a non-refundable scholarship for nine months beginning in October of each academic year, providing they maintain a minimum grade point average, do not lose an academic year, and do not incur disciplinary sanctions.
The only source of revenue for the Foundation is contributions from philanthropists.
For the sustainability of the Cukurova University Industry Collaboration Foundation Scholarship, which will offer meaningful contributions to our accomplished students with modest financial resources, it is crucial that donations continue.
